Twelve-bin dry veneer stacker - built control and HMI panels, programmed stacker controls and HMI, and integrated into new USNR dryer line.

Provided assistance to customer on various projects involving both new equipment and existing PLC upgrades from PLC5 to ControlLogix. All PLC conversions are now complete. NIA is also developing robotic and other automation solutions for various plant systems in order to reduce man-hour costs and downtime, as well as to increase productivity.

NIA has the ability to connect remotely to any machine center in the mill, and provides assistance with remote troubleshooting of mill equipment as needed.
Southern Veneer Specialty Products - Moncure North Carolina
Provided assistance with plant systems after acquisition by Southern Veneer in 2019. Assisted with optimizing various systems plant-wide, as well as issues with plant and machine Ethernet networks. Provided guidance on repairing and/or replacing PLC I/O and other devices as part of the optimization process. NIA continues to provide controls and system optimization as needed.

Recently NIA was involved with converting one of the veneer dryers in the facility from PLC-5 controls to Contrologix.

Assisted with reprogramming controls for an extensive agricultural irrigation system. The system involved three large pumps that needed to cycle based on line pressure, and current programming was not allowing that to happen smoothly. PID instruction in Micro 1400 did not work, so created a scan-based servo loop and associated logic to control pump selection and speed based on demand.
